June 6, 2016 –
Our summer reading program, READ for the Win! starts on June 6th with a kick-off party full of games and activities. Children ages 3-17 can sign-up to be a part of our reading program and win prizes all summer long.
There will be all sorts of exciting activities happening at the library this summer!
We will be starting a program called Magnificent Mondays for ages 10 & up on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month. At Magnificent Monday, we will create crafts and provide activites for the 10 & up age group at 3:30 pm. Plan for activities to last 1-1.5 hours. We will be making tie-dye socks and bandanas at our first meeting on June 13th!
Fun With 4H day camps will be happening Thursdays, June 9th, 23rd, & June 30th & July 21st from 2-3:30 pm for ages 5-10
As always, we will be having Story Hour at 10 am on Friday mornings. Story Hour is geared for children birth to age 6, but all ages are welcome. Big brothers and sisters always seem to enjoy being a part of story hour (and often come up with some great ideas for action songs!), so the whole family is welcome.
Professor Marvel will be back on Friday, July 8th at 3 pm with his Magic of the Olympics Magic Show. His programs are always a lot of fun for the whole family and are geared toward ages 3 & up (and parents and grandparents, too).
Students from St John's Outdoor University will also be coming out on Friday, August 12 at 10 am with their Nature Olympics: How Animals Win in Nature program. This program is geared for ages 3-12. We'll be learning all about Minnesota animals by reading and playing games! The students from St. John's Outdoor University always do a great job. We want to thank the Friends of the Dassel Library for helping to sponsor this event!
Our final event for the summer will be a family concert happening on Friday, September 2nd at 6 pm at Bandstand Park in downtown Dassel! Minnesota musician, Paul Spring, will be bringing us his Home of Song show. Want to know more about Paul's music? Follow these links: NPR Review , Sample of Music , Kids Can Groove
We hope to see you at the library this summer!
